Director, Technology and Product Attorney (AI)

Location: Hybrid, with 3 days onsite in Bethesda, MD, New York, NY, or Cleveland, OH

Annual salary: $159,900–$280,850

What you will do

• Advise on legal and regulatory issues throughout the technology product and AI system lifecycle.
• Guide technology and product teams on developing, implementing, and monitoring AI initiatives, products, and services.
• Identify and mitigate risks involving artificial intelligence, innovative technologies, privacy, data use, and consumer protection.
• Advise on hirify.global’s AI governance framework and provide training on AI risk management and responsible AI use.
• Monitor technology and AI legislation and regulatory developments, assess organizational impact, and advise on advocacy opportunities.
• Support technology vendor onboarding, oversight, and contract interpretation in collaboration with Supplier Management.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school and admission to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• 10+ years of legal experience, including at least 5 years focused on technology and AI matters.
• Understanding of U.S. federal and state laws covering technology, digitalization, artificial intelligence, innovation, data protection, and information use.
• Familiarity with AI governance and emerging AI or insurance regulations, including the NIST AI Risk Management Framework, EU AI Act, and NAIC Model AI Bulletin.
• Ability to collaborate across Legal, Compliance, Technology, and business teams and explain complex legal concepts to non-lawyers.
• New employment authorization sponsorship is not available.
