Mid-Level Network Security Engineer (Firewall, Load Balancer & Proxy)

Location: Porto, Portugal; hybrid work. Candidates must already have the legal right to work in the European Union.

What you will do

• Design and implement network security solutions for new technologies and client projects.
• Upgrade, deploy, supervise, and support security devices across the network.
• Manage F5 Load Balancers, Fortinet Firewalls, SkyHigh proxies, and related perimeter security infrastructure.
• Develop and automate security processes and controls using Ansible, Python, or Perl.
• Contribute to capacity planning, infrastructure resiliency, and security systems monitoring with Splunk or Centreon.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience with security infrastructure solutions, including firewalls, load balancing, proxies, and WAFs.
• Hands-on expertise with F5 Load Balancer, especially the LTM module.
• Experience with at least one of Fortinet Firewall, SkyHigh proxies, or Ubika WAF.
• Knowledge of DNS, LAN, IP, cabling, and switching.
• Experience with automation or NETOPS tools such as Ansible, Python, or Perl, plus supervision tools such as Splunk or Centreon.
• Fluent English and Portuguese; existing legal right to work in the EU required.

Nice to have

• Certifications in relevant security technologies or networking.
