Systems Engineer (SSL/TLS)

hirify.global operates a large-scale global network that protects and accelerates Internet applications, including TLS encryption and certificate services.

What you will do

• Build and operate backend services with RESTful APIs and dedicated datastores using Go and other languages.
• Write and maintain functional specifications for services.
• Integrate services through message queue systems and evaluate third-party and open-source tools.
• Design alerts, create operational procedures, and act as an escalation point for unresolved incidents.
• Read legacy code and migrate logic to modern service architectures.
• Review code through pull requests and help maintain reliable, fault-tolerant systems at scale.

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional experience building backend systems at a technology company.
• Production-quality coding experience in Go, or experience in another language with willingness to learn Go.
• Experience building and operating distributed systems.
• Proficiency with modern Unix/Linux development and runtime environments.
• Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills with attention to detail.
• Experience delivering well-tested and reliable production code.

Nice to have

• Experience designing RESTful APIs and full-stack applications.
• Familiarity with PKI/TLS concepts and certificate management.
• Experience writing technical documentation and specifications.
• Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases such as PostgreSQL.
• Experience with message queues such as Kafka or RabbitMQ and distributed-systems concerns including performance, caching, and data storage.
