Software Developer (C++)

Location: Hybrid in Beaverton, Oregon, United States, with in-office work required every Tuesday and Thursday. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Visa sponsorship and employer-sponsored work authorization are not available.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain backend components primarily in C++, with contributions to Go-based services.
• Build and extend real-time systems that process and analyze live audio, video, captions, timecode, and other ancillary data over networks.
• Address concurrency, timing, performance, correctness, and reliability challenges in media applications.
• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and QA on product features and improvements.
• Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, and Agile workflows.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code in a Linux environment.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of professional software development experience.
• Strong proficiency in modern C++, including multithreading and memory management.
• Ability to reason about performance- and timing-sensitive code.
• Interest in learning and contributing to Go-based services.
• Knowledge of software design principles and debugging techniques.
• Comfort working in Linux.

Nice to have

• Experience with audio/video technologies such as encoding, playback, streaming, closed captioning, or timecode.
• Exposure to real-time or embedded systems programming or low-level network protocols.
• Familiarity with microservices, gRPC, RabbitMQ/AMQP, CI/CD, Jenkins, Bitbucket, Kubernetes, or k3s.
• Awareness of REST or gRPC APIs integrated with React frontends.
