Alternatives Data Operations Analyst

Location: Edinburgh, UK. Applicants must have and maintain the right to work in the United Kingdom from the first day of employment. The role works UK hours; visa sponsorship is not available.

What you will do

• Research investments in hirify.global’s global database and classify them by asset type, vintage, and strategy.
• Capture, update, and validate alternative investment data for private funds, private companies, and other non-public investments.
• Oversee alternative-data processing workflows, the alternatives security master, and security classification processes.
• Develop process controls and accurate metrics to maintain data quality standards.
• Partner with Research and Engineering teams to implement data-quality validations and troubleshoot ingestion pipelines, networking, querying, and database issues.
• Apply AI-assisted developer tools and LLM prompts to streamline document parsing, repetitive workflows, and validation cycles.

Requirements

• Experience in the financial investment or advisory industry, including capital markets and middle- or back-office operations systems.
• Knowledge of alternative investments, including private or draw-down fund reporting statements and data.
• Strong SQL and Databricks/PySpark skills for navigating data architectures, creating custom audits, and validating high-volume datasets.
• Ability to interpret unstructured private-market financial documents, such as Form D filings, capital account statements, and institutional investment briefs.
• Strong documentation, problem-solving, communication, follow-through, and collaboration skills.
• UK right to work is required from the first day of employment; visa sponsorship is unavailable.

Nice to have

• Experience with Microsoft Excel, Google Suite, Jira, Confluence, Python, Jupyter Notebook, Pandas, Bloomberg, PitchBook, or other financial-services systems.
• Experience or interest in AI developer tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or automated API integrations.
