Senior Data Engineer (AI)

Location: New York, NY; based in hirify.global's NYC office with a 3-2 hybrid schedule, including in-office work Tuesday through Thursday

Salary: Base salary starting from $185,000 plus bonus eligibility

What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain scalable batch and near real-time data pipelines powering data-driven products.
• Architect and operate data ingestion and transformation pipelines using AWS infrastructure, including S3, EMR, Glue, Lambda, and Step Functions.
• Design data models and technical solutions from high-level business and product requirements.
• Embed data quality, validation, monitoring, and reliability checks into production pipelines.
• Lead complex data engineering projects from planning through delivery while managing stakeholders and timelines.
• Integrate AI-driven workflows, including LLM orchestration, embedding generation, and vector search, into core data systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree.
• At least 5 years of application development experience, 3 years of big data experience, and 3 years of cloud computing experience.
• Experience with dimensional data modeling, relational schema design, enterprise data warehouses, and data lakes.
• Hands-on experience building and deploying AWS data pipelines with S3, EMR, Glue, Lambda, and Step Functions.
• Experience with Agile, SDLC, Git workflows, and CI/CD.
• US work authorization is required without current or future visa sponsorship, including H-1B, F-1 OPT, TN, or other non-immigrant status.

Nice to have

• Experience with Python, SQL, Scala, or Java and distributed technologies such as Hadoop, Hive, EMR, Kafka, and Spark.
• Experience with real-time streaming applications, MLOps, data warehousing, and Redshift or Snowflake.
• Experience with generative AI tools, LLM APIs such as Amazon Bedrock or SageMaker, vector databases, and production AI pipelines.
• Experience with UNIX/Linux, shell scripting, and Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation/CDK.
