Senior Software Engineer, Query Execution (C++)

Location: Dublin office or remote in Ireland; relocation to Ireland can be supported

What you will do

• Develop and maintain a high-performing, reliable, and modular distributed query system.
• Understand and improve current hirify.global query engine functionality.
• Design, implement, test, and support features for query performance, robustness, query language enhancements, and diagnostics.
• Integrate query execution capabilities with other products and tools.
• Write high-quality C++ code, participate in code reviews, and collaborate with peers on technical solutions.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in systems programming.
• Hands-on experience building industrial-strength software and working with large code bases.
• Strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, software design, and architecture.
• Experience with C++, C, Rust, or a similar compiled language.
• B.Sc. in Computer Science or a similar field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Ability to work from Ireland or from the Dublin office.

Nice to have

• Experience with databases or data management systems.
• Interest in, or hands-on experience with, database query engine theory and practice.
• M.Sc. or Ph.D. in a relevant domain.

Hiring process
