Location: San Diego, CA, USA; hybrid or remote office environment

Salary: $22.00–$28.00 per hour

What you will do

  • Review completed workers’ compensation premium audits for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company, carrier, bureau, and state requirements.
  • Compare audits with prior audits, policy history, underwriting files, endorsements, applications, inspections, and supporting documentation.
  • Evaluate classifications, payroll allocations, employee duties, ownership, officer status, endorsements, and entity combinability.
  • Research and resolve discrepancies, document decisions, and coordinate policy corrections and endorsements.
  • Review audit disputes, communicate findings, process appropriate revisions, and respond to questions from brokers, insureds, auditors, vendors, carriers, and internal teams.
  • Maintain audit records, review late-reported claims when requested, and complete reporting and special projects.

Requirements

  • At least two years of insurance experience, preferably in workers’ compensation premium audit, underwriting, or compliance.
  • Working knowledge of workers’ compensation premium audit practices, classifications, payroll reporting, ownership rules, endorsements, and entity combinability.
  • Strong analytical, research, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify inconsistencies and make decisions from documentation.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills and the ability to explain audit findings and required corrections.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and carrier, vendor, bureau, and internal insurance systems.
  • Ability to work in a hybrid or remote environment from the United States while managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines.
