Senior Software Engineer II, Applied AI

Location: Seattle, Washington, United States. Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Annual salary: $185,400–$232,050 USD, plus bonus potential and employee equity.

What you will do

• Own end-to-end delivery of a GenAI-powered security deterrence product from architecture and application code through production rollout, monitoring, and field iteration.
• Build the detection-to-response harness, including orchestration, prompting, voice generation, customization, and product-level evaluation and regression testing.
• Define and maintain precision, false-positive, timing, reliability, safety, observability, and operational-readiness standards for a real-world-actuating system.
• Design and build services, APIs, and integration code connecting detection models, voice capabilities, and the product application.
• Integrate with ML/LLM Ops platforms and data-team contracts while collaborating with ML scientists to turn detection models into product behavior.
• Make build-versus-buy decisions for model hosting, voice/TTS providers, frameworks, and shared platform capabilities based on cost, latency, and maintenance trade-offs.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience building and shipping production software, with strong backend or full-stack systems and API design experience.
• Experience building products on top of ML or GenAI models, including orchestration, prompting, retrieval or tool-calling, and evaluation of non-deterministic systems.
• Experience with real-time, event-driven, actuating, security, robotics, IoT, or other safety-relevant systems where incorrect outputs have real consequences.
• Strong Python skills and experience with application stacks such as TypeScript and Node, APIs, and production backend systems.
• Demonstrated end-to-end product or major-feature ownership, cross-functional collaboration with ML, platform, data, and product teams, and pragmatic technology selection.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience; U.S. work authorization is required.

Nice to have

• Computer-vision or video-product experience, especially detection-driven systems and low-light imaging.
• Production-quality voice or TTS generation and customization.
• Experience with LangGraph, MCP frameworks, vector databases, and inference or serving platforms.
• Evaluation and regression frameworks for non-deterministic or real-world-actuating systems.
• Edge-to-cloud or IoT experience.
