Senior Data Scientist - Full Stack (Fintech)

Location: London, England, United Kingdom; hybrid work with a minimum of two office days per week for levels 1–5 and three office days per week for level 6 and above.

What you will do

• Lead the end-to-end development of data science and machine learning solutions, from business concept through impact evaluation.
• Develop targeting and prioritisation solutions that improve the user experience across markets and business areas.
• Work with cross-functional stakeholders and the Global Targeting team to align models with business needs and decision-making.
• Assess data, features, model behaviour, and production quality to identify issues before they affect users.
• Improve and standardise model development and management processes, including deployment and maintenance.
• Explore practical applications of AI and new machine learning developments.

Requirements

• Advanced Python and SQL skills.
• Strong understanding of dbt, Analytics Engineering, and feature engineering.
• In-depth knowledge of statistical and machine learning techniques and the full model lifecycle.
• Ability to reason critically with data, understand user and product behaviour, and connect data assets to financial wellbeing.
• Experience applying business-domain knowledge to model development or deriving insights from data.
• Ability to explain complex analytical and modelling findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience using AI tools in everyday development workflows.
• Experience with real-time or near-real-time inference solutions and supporting infrastructure.
• Experience deploying solutions into Databricks.
• Experience in product-focused, cross-functional environments.
• Knowledge of consumer lending, credit and affordability strategies, credit bureau data, and predictive ML models.
• Postgraduate STEM degree or equivalent qualification.
