Salary: £56,500–£63,000 per year in Manchester; £59,000–£66,000 per year in Guildford

What you will do
- Lead data engineering within the Data Analytics, Insight & Reporting team and shape the future direction of the data platform.
- Design, build and maintain scalable, secure and high-performing cloud-based data solutions.
- Develop and optimise data pipelines, integrations, data models and database structures across multiple systems.
- Enable analytics, reporting, advanced analytics and AI through reliable data platform capabilities.
- Partner with technology colleagues and business stakeholders to align solutions with architecture, governance and security standards.
- Establish data engineering standards, documentation and best practices while managing and developing an Analytics Engineer.
Requirements
- Experience in a senior or lead data engineering role, and/or a degree in an analytical, technical or mathematical discipline.
- Experience designing and implementing cloud-based data platforms using Azure, Databricks or similar technologies.
- Strong SQL or Python coding skills, with significant experience in data modelling and database design.
- Experience integrating data across multiple systems and platforms.
- Knowledge of data architecture, governance, security and access control principles.
- Strong leadership, influencing, communication, analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Nice to have
- Experience with Alteryx.
- Awareness or experience of large-scale data platforms supporting AI or advanced analytics.
