Senior Data Scientist (AI/ML)

Location: United Kingdom; hybrid working. Remote-first environment with offices in London and Nottingham.

What you will do

• Translate complex business problems into data science questions with measurable success criteria and business outcomes.
• Design and deliver end-to-end machine learning solutions, including experimentation, model development, deployment, and exploratory analysis.
• Design robust data structures and modelling features that support reliable, scalable model behaviour within system constraints.
• Evaluate, validate, monitor, and retrain production models while communicating assumptions, uncertainty, limitations, and recommendations.
• Write maintainable, tested, production-quality SQL and Python code while following data governance, security, responsible AI, and compliance standards.
• Mentor junior colleagues and improve modelling, engineering, documentation, and knowledge-sharing practices across the data function.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in a data science or machine learning role delivering end-to-end solutions.
• Strong knowledge of statistical concepts, experimentation, model selection, evaluation, and performance measurement.
• Strong proficiency in SQL, Python, and data science toolkits such as PyTorch.
• Experience deploying and monitoring AI/ML solutions, writing production-quality code, and applying appropriate testing and validation.
• Experience with cloud platforms and BI tooling, with clear communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to robust, reliable, reproducible, and well-documented solutions.

Nice to have

• Experience with Databricks and Sigma.
• Experience in the energy industry.
