Mainframe Network Engineer

What you will do

• Install, configure, and maintain z/OS Communications Server components and TCP/IP configurations.
• Maintain and troubleshoot VTAM definitions, network resources, Enterprise Extender, SNA, and TN3270 connectivity.
• Support communication between mainframes, distributed servers, external partners, enterprise applications, and middleware platforms.
• Diagnose IP routing, port communication, session, DNS, and firewall-related connectivity issues.
• Support FTP, SFTP, Connect:Direct, SSL/TLS certificates, secure transmission standards, and security controls.
• Support disaster recovery network design, failover validation, backup data center connectivity, and business continuity exercises.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in mainframe networking or z/OS communications support.
• Solid experience with TCP/IP on z/OS, VTAM, SNA, Enterprise Extender, TN3270, FTP/SFTP, and TLS.
• Familiarity with JCL, TSO/ISPF, and SDSF.
• Ability to analyze logs, traces, and dump information related to communications issues.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively, follow projects through completion, and participate in an on-call rotation.
• Strong troubleshooting and customer service skills.
