Senior System Architect (Embedded/Cloud) - Upstream Optimization

hirify.global's Upstream Optimization business unit develops technologies and cloud-based software for optimizing energy production through real-time process data from non-intrusive flow sensors.

What you will do

• Design and own the end-to-end system architecture for an EMAT flow sensor spanning hardware, embedded software, AI, signal processing, and cloud applications.
• Develop coherent solutions aligned with holistic product requirements and guide development teams through the system architecture.
• Work with the Product Owner and customer-facing teams to define technical requirements, specifications, and action plans.
• Present architecture decisions and results to customers and internal stakeholders as the technical point of contact.
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards, and integrate and test the overall system.
• Help shape agile collaboration across interdisciplinary, cross-functional, and internationally distributed teams.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in system architecture design and at least 10 years of experience developing complex sensor systems, measurement technology, or embedded systems, ideally in an industrial environment.
• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Embedded Systems, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience with embedded software development using C/C++, RTOS, and Embedded Linux, including software architecture for electronics platforms.
• Knowledge of data science, machine learning, data analysis tools, and cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, as well as on-premise solutions.
• Excellent written and spoken German and English are required.
• Experience with technical project ownership or system/software architecture and distributed international teams.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with EMC, LVD, RED, CRA, ATEX, and international standards and directives.
• Knowledge of IEC 61508 and functional safety.
• Project management knowledge.
