TL;DR
Technical Professional - Mechanical (High-Energy Lasers): Designing, developing, integrating, and testing mechanical products and systems for high-energy laser projects with an accent on mechanical engineering principles, thermal management, CAD/CFD analysis, and vendor equipment validation. Focus on leading engineering projects to completion, analyzing system performance, supporting design reviews, and solving complex technical issues in defense-oriented development environments.

Location: Warner Robins, Georgia, United States; onsite at the Warner Robins office

What you will do

  • Research, design, modify, develop, and evaluate mechanical systems, products, components, and applications.
  • Support high-energy laser system design, development, integration, implementation, analysis, and testing.
  • Evaluate stress, strain, thermal management, mechanics of materials, and related mechanical engineering factors.
  • Develop test methods, validate vendor equipment performance, execute system tests, and analyze results.
  • Lead projects through completion by developing schedules and ensuring technical performance remains within cost.
  • Prepare engineering documentation and collaborate with engineering disciplines, manufacturing personnel, vendors, customers, and subcontractors.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related science, technology, or engineering discipline from an accredited institution.
  • At least 10 years of relevant mechanical engineering or related experience.
  • US Citizenship is required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
  • Working knowledge of CAD and CFD software; experience with SolidWorks is preferred.
  • Ability to analyze complex technical issues and communicate effectively with engineering, program management, and government customers.

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree in engineering or a related discipline.
  • Experience with high-energy lasers, directed energy, optical systems, precision pointing systems, beam control, thermal management, or power management and storage.
  • Knowledge of engineering drawings, schematics, interface requirements, military specifications, CAD/CAM systems, and manufacturing process development.
  • Knowledge of DoD systems engineering processes, requirements development, and verification and validation.
  • Prior support for Army, Navy, Air Force, or OSD high-energy laser programs.
