Principal Product Manager (HR Technology)

Location: Toronto, ON, Canada

Salary: CAD 124,700–182,875 base annually for Canada-based roles; offers may exceed this range and may include bonuses, stock grants, and benefits.

What you will do

• Own product strategy and roadmaps for an assigned People & Places technology domain, applying build-versus-buy principles and portfolio evaluation frameworks.
• Manage visibility across domain tools, vendors, and contracts, and lead renewal, divestment, and consolidation decisions.
• Translate ambiguous employee and business problems into product requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and measurable outcomes.
• Own the experience and intelligence layer built above Workday and other systems of record.
• Partner daily with engineering and experience design teams through scoping, delivery, launch, and adoption.
• Define domain KPIs, dashboards, and leading indicators while identifying risks, redundancies, and opportunities for leadership.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business, human resources, information systems, computer science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 8 years of product management experience owning products or platforms from definition through delivery and operation.
• Experience setting direction with minimal oversight and influencing senior stakeholders on significant product decisions.
• Experience partnering directly with engineering teams to scope, sequence, and ship technical work.
• Ability to work effectively in ambiguous environments and rapidly learn new domains, tools, and technical skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for both business and technical audiences.

Nice to have

• Experience with Workday, Eightfold, or other HR, learning, and talent platforms.
• Experience building or scaling internal enterprise products, data platforms, or integration services.
• Experience using generative AI or AI-assisted tools in product management workflows.
• Experience in a high-ownership, high-velocity product organization.
