Structural Dynamics Engineer (HVAC)

Location: La Crosse, Wisconsin, United States; onsite Monday through Thursday, with flexible work location on Fridays

Annual base salary: $84,740–$118,860

What you will do

• Advance acoustics and mechanics engineering tools and methodologies for commercial HVAC products.
• Develop structural and structural-dynamics simulation models covering modes, dynamic response, stress, strain, deformation, and fatigue.
• Plan, conduct, and supervise modal, vibration, rotating machinery, strength, and component fatigue tests.
• Correlate simulation models with test data to improve prediction accuracy and validate results.
• Develop design guidelines and standard work for structural design, simulation, and testing.
• Collaborate with product engineers, test engineers, technicians, and global engineering teams while mentoring engineering resources.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• At least 2 years of work experience in structural dynamics.
• Coursework in mechanics of materials, vibration, structural dynamics, numerical simulation methods, and digital signal processing.
• Experience with structural engineering design and technical problem-solving using simulations and tests.
• Knowledge of machinery dynamics design, testing, and optimization.
• Strong teamwork, communication, interpersonal, and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple high-priority projects.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree.
• Experience with ANSYS, Siemens SimCenter, or Siemens Test.Lab.
• Experience correlating simulation models with test data.
• Experience with data acquisition systems, mechanical strain measurement, HVAC products, compressors, fans, or sheet metal structures.
