Senior Technical Surveyor (Subsidence)

Location: Home-based, United Kingdom; ideally Leeds and surrounding areas. Fully remote with travel to damaged properties.

What you will do

• Lead complex domestic and commercial subsidence investigations from the first site visit through final resolution.
• Visit damaged properties to assess structural, technical, and insurance-related issues.
• Design and oversee stabilisation schemes, repair strategies, specifications, and tender documents.
• Interpret geotechnical investigations and advise on foundation solutions.
• Administer building contracts, valuations, and variations while ensuring compliance with Building Regulations, Planning, CDM, and Party Wall legislation.
• Collaborate with policyholders, insurers, loss adjusters, contractors, and local authorities; mentor colleagues and support training.

Requirements

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Building Surveying, or a related discipline.
• Strong experience in subsidence investigation and building pathology.
• Understanding of buildings insurance, contract administration, and construction law.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Full, clean UK driving licence required.
