Senior Electrical Engineer (Built Asset Consultancy)

Location: Bristol, United Kingdom, with hybrid working. The role includes travel to project locations, mainly across Southwest England and South Wales.

What you will do

• Undertake project feasibility studies, electrical condition surveys, pre-acquisition, dilapidation, and PPM surveys.
• Deliver independent electrical-services design from RIBA Stage 0–4, including technical drawings and full electrical tender packages.
• Monitor electrical works on site and report on conformity, quality, and compliance.
• Act as a technical adviser for clients, support contractor designs, and provide technical advice throughout construction.
• Work with internal project teams, comply with commercial, procurement, contractual, environmental, health, safety, security, and quality standards, and develop commercial strategies.
• Support the growth and development of the regional M&E service.

Requirements

• BSc degree in Electrical Engineering as a minimum and a recognised M&E qualification.
• Chartered status or willingness to obtain MCIBSE or an equivalent qualification.
• Track record in a similar role or site engineering, with a high level of independent electrical design experience from RIBA Stage 0–4.
• Experience in asset surveying, asset identification, age and remaining-life estimation, and technical due diligence.
• Ability to monitor electrical works on site.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and experience with relevant software such as CAD, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, customer service, and client or external-interface skills.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel according to project locations.
• Organised, diligent, proactive, well-disciplined, and commercially astute, with a commitment to customer service excellence and regional M&E growth.
• Experience using technology such as tablets in previous roles.
• Ability to collaborate with clients and colleagues, share knowledge, support peers and senior staff, and contribute as a team player.
• Commitment to a long-term position and to the growth and development of the regional M&E team.
