Senior Storage Systems Engineer (VMware)

Location: Onsite in Washington, DC, United States

Salary: $60,000–$180,000 USD per year

What you will do

• Review operational events and recommend refinements, automation, and broader handling capabilities.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure issues and develop solutions with Enterprise Operations, cybersecurity, networking, cloud, and technology support stakeholders.
• Identify and report vulnerabilities and risks across virtual server and container hosting architectures.
• Develop and perform quality-control checks for service uptime and operational performance.
• Develop and track operational metrics related to uptime and service operations.

Requirements

• US citizenship and authorization to work in the United States are required.
• An active Public Trust clearance is required.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, including five additional years, in computer science, engineering, information systems, information technology, or a related field.
• In-depth knowledge of network switching in Dell Blade systems and firewall management for virtual infrastructures.
• Experience with VMware Cloud Foundation and VMware Aria Operations.
• Subject matter expertise in at least two areas: Kubernetes, server hosting, virtual networking, network and application security, or scripting and programming.
• Experience with at least three relevant technologies, including VMware or Omnissa products, Windows or Linux server operating systems, Dell or HPE server hardware, and Kubernetes container infrastructure.

Nice to have

• Experience configuring Dell or Cisco chassis network and storage switches.
• Experience coordinating technical working sessions with vendors and resellers.
