TL;DR
Technical Architect (Windows/Azure): Designing and delivering mission-critical IT solutions from proof of concept through live operational service with an accent on technical architecture, solution documentation, and customer requirements. Focus on developing technical designs, planning migrations, supporting engineering delivery, and maintaining Microsoft server, client, virtualization, and cloud environments.
Location: Remote within the United Kingdom. Candidates must have lived in the UK for at least five consecutive years to be eligible for SC and NPPV clearance and must have a pre-existing right to work and travel within the UK.

What you will do
- Work with Solution Architects, professional services, delivery teams, product teams, and engineering teams to realise proof-of-concept solutions and deliver mission-critical systems.
- Evaluate products for operational suitability and advise on non-functional requirements and technical roadmaps.
- Produce, present, maintain, and update technical solution designs and supporting documentation according to customer requirements and standards.
- Complete architecture tasks, migration planning, milestone reviews, workplan reviews, and project documentation for major change projects.
- Triage and assign engineering tasks through Azure DevOps and support delivery teams with technical issues.
- Provide technical consultancy and customer-facing communication throughout the project delivery lifecycle.
Requirements
- Eligibility for SC and NPPV clearance, including at least five consecutive years of UK residence.
- HND/HNC qualification or relevant industry experience, with at least two years of proven experience in a comparable role.
- Experience developing proof of concepts, capturing requirements, producing technical design documentation, and troubleshooting IT environments.
- Experience with Microsoft Windows client and server architecture, including Windows 10/11 and Windows Server up to 2025, preferably with DELL or similar hardware.
- Understanding and practical experience with Microsoft Active Directory, domain architecture, Microsoft Hyper-V or VMware, MS Visio, Excel, Word, and ITIL best practices.
- Strong written, interpersonal, presentation, customer service, autonomous-working, and teamwork skills.
Nice to have
- Experience with mission-critical solutions and formal design methodologies such as TOGAF.
- Knowledge of SIP, scripting with Batch, MySQL, or PowerShell, and Hyper-V Failover Clustering.
- Telephony experience with Cisco UCCE, Avaya, Mitel, Shortel, or Asterisk.
- Knowledge of MySQL/MSSQL administration, backups, jobs, and queries.
- Microsoft Azure solution design, deployment, or security experience.
