TL;DR
Federal Government Technical Service Advisor (Network Security) (IP/MPLS Networking): Providing customer-facing technical consulting, post-sales service leadership, and network reliability recommendations for US Federal Government customers with an accent on datacenter networking, security, SLAs, and operational performance. Focus on assessing network designs and configurations, managing escalations, analyzing software defects and risks, and coordinating complex service improvements with customers and HPE engineering teams.

Location: United States; onsite at an HPE office at least 3 days per week, potentially more. US citizenship and eligibility for a US Government security clearance are required.

Salary: $81,500–$187,500 annual base salary in Wisconsin, plus possible variable incentives.

What you will do

  • Provide technology consulting and technical leadership for customer network solutions and service delivery.
  • Serve as the single customer contact for post-sales support, escalations, SLAs, and service coordination.
  • Evaluate network performance, scalability, security, configurations, topologies, and deployment plans.
  • Lead customer reviews, service business reviews, status reporting, health checks, and configuration or design assessments.
  • Review software defects, identify deployment risks, develop mitigation plans, and coordinate resolution with HPE technical and engineering teams.
  • Prepare root-cause analyses, trend reports, customer process training, and technical documentation.

Requirements

  • US citizenship and eligibility for a US Government-issued security clearance; active clearance is preferred but not required at hire.
  • 4+ years of experience designing, implementing, and solving technical problems in datacenter and IP/MPLS networks in customer-facing roles.
  • 4+ years of customer-facing experience and 4+ years collaborating, mentoring, or leading teams and projects.
  • Deep knowledge of TCP/IP, QoS, VLAN, STP, IPsec, NAT, IPv6, VRRP, OSPF, BGP, multicast, and MPLS VPN.
  • Strong exposure to network operations and the ability to work independently while managing priorities in an unstructured environment.
  • A bachelor's degree in electrical/electronic engineering, computer science, or an equivalent field is preferred.

Nice to have

  • Experience with segment routing, traffic engineering, data-center switching, VXLAN, EVPN, SD-WAN, or wireless technologies.
  • Military or emergency services experience.
  • Large enterprise or network service provider experience.
  • ITIL knowledge, network automation experience, or HPE and equivalent certifications such as JNCIS, JNCIP, or JNCIE.
  • An MBA or other business degree.
