Operational Development Engineer

What you will do

• Gather, validate, and consolidate data from operational and engineering sources.
• Develop, maintain, and improve Microsoft Excel reporting tools and dashboards.
• Analyse large datasets to identify trends, risks, opportunities, and performance improvements.
• Prepare regular reports and presentations for stakeholders and management.
• Monitor KPIs, investigate performance deviations, and support data-driven operational planning.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on reporting methodology, data integrity, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Engineering bachelor’s or master’s degree, or equivalent military experience.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, complex formulas, data manipulation, analysis, and dashboard creation.
• Experience working with large volumes of data and producing reports.
• Strong analytical, organisational, problem-solving, communication, and presentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Ability to obtain or willingness to undergo security clearance; Baseline Personnel Security Standard checks are required during onboarding.

Nice to have

• Experience with Power BI, Power Query, or similar business intelligence tools.
• Experience in engineering, energy, manufacturing, infrastructure, or other technical sectors.
• Understanding of operational performance management and KPI reporting.
• Experience with continuous improvement, project controls, or programme delivery environments.
• Mechanical engineering background.
