Engineer Operational Excellence (Biotech)

Location: On-site full-time in Durham, North Carolina, United States

Salary: $69,000–$93,000 annual base pay, with potential bonus or incentive compensation.

What you will do

• Generate and automate KPI reporting while maintaining data integrity and usability.
• Analyze operational data and apply statistical methods to identify trends, variation, and process deviations.
• Apply SPC and QC methods to monitor and improve process stability.
• Execute Lean initiatives, including 5S, Kaizen events, and Six Sigma projects.
• Partner with operations teams to pilot, measure, and scale process improvements.
• Track operational issues, risks, and improvement opportunities while collaborating with Operations, Engineering, Software, and Product teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Life Sciences, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in process engineering, operations, or continuous improvement, ideally in biotech, diagnostics, or manufacturing.
• Working knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen methodologies.
• Experience with data analysis and visualization tools such as Excel, SQL, Python, Tableau, or Power BI.
• Familiarity with SPC/QC tools and statistical analysis techniques.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and attention-to-detail skills.
