Senior Network Infrastructure Engineer

Location: Canberra, Australian Capital Territory, Australia; must be based in Canberra. Relocation assistance may be considered for the right candidate.

What you will do

• Support enterprise infrastructure across networking, servers, storage, backup, virtualisation, and cloud networking.
• Configure, administer, and optimise Cisco environments, including ISE, NDFC, Nexus switching, Leaf-Spine, VXLAN, and SD-WAN.
• Manage Palo Alto firewalls, VPNs, remote connectivity solutions, F5 BIG-IP load balancers, and Azure networking services.
• Support Windows Server, Linux, and VMware environments while maintaining availability, performance, and security.
• Troubleshoot complex infrastructure and connectivity issues across multiple technology domains.
• Perform upgrades, patching, monitoring, lifecycle management, capacity planning, backup and recovery activities, and incident, problem, and change management.

Requirements

• Australian citizenship and an active Baseline Defence Security Clearance or higher are required.
• Hands-on experience with Cisco networking, including Nexus switching, Cisco ISE, SD-WAN, and modern data-centre networking.
• Experience with Palo Alto firewalls, enterprise network security, routing, switching, segmentation, VPNs, and security principles.
• Experience with F5 BIG-IP, Azure cloud networking, Windows Server, Linux, and VMware.
• Ability to diagnose and resolve complex enterprise infrastructure issues and follow monitoring, patching, documentation, and change-control practices.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Nice to have

• Defence, government, or other highly regulated environment experience.
• Enterprise storage, backup, and disaster recovery experience.
• Automation and scripting experience with PowerShell, Python, Ansible, or Terraform.
• Azure or hybrid cloud exposure.
