Data Scientist (AI/ML)

Location: San Francisco, United States; hybrid model with three days per week onsite

Salary: $240,000–$260,000 annual base compensation, plus equity

What you will do

• Define evaluation frameworks, offline and online metrics, baselines, and quality standards for internal models and ML products.
• Build measurement systems for cross-domain ML products and increase visibility into performance across the business.
• Own experimentation and production-model monitoring, including metric monitoring and drift detection for enriched datasets.
• Identify and size AI/ML product opportunities and turn ambiguous problem spaces into scoped initiatives with clear success criteria.
• Act as the data science subject-matter expert for machine learning engineers and cross-functional partners.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in data science or a related quantitative field.
• Hands-on ownership of model evaluation and measurement for production systems.
• Experience designing evaluation frameworks for ambiguous ML problems with imperfect ground truth.
• Strong SQL skills and the ability to write production-quality Python for statistical data processing.
• Experience with metrics and measurement for consumer software products.
• Ability to translate business needs into technical plans and communicate technical concepts to cross-functional partners.
