Data Scientist, Product (AI)

Location: New York City, NY; San Francisco, CA; or Seattle, WA. Hybrid work is required, with staff expected to be in one of the offices at least 25% of the time.

What you will do

• Analyze product and user data to identify opportunities and provide recommendations that influence product, strategy, and operations roadmaps.
• Develop hypotheses and apply causal inference methods, including controlled experiments and synthetic controls.
• Investigate anomalies, perform root cause analyses, and provide data-driven guidance for prioritization and decision-making.
• Define core metrics, build measurement frameworks, and maintain reporting used to evaluate product success.
• Build statistical models, optimization frameworks, and simulations to automate decision-making and operational processes.
• Present technical analyses to technical and non-technical stakeholders while establishing data practices and scaling analytics infrastructure.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in data science or analytics roles.
• Deep expertise in Python, SQL, and data visualization tools.
• Expertise in experimental design, causal inference, statistical modeling, and A/B testing frameworks.
• Strong written communication, presentation, and stakeholder collaboration skills.
• Ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights and operate effectively in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education, training, or experience in a relevant field.

Nice to have

• Experience with AI/ML products, large language models, or developer tools in the AI/ML ecosystem.
• Passion for building helpful, honest, and harmless AI.
