Senior Aerospace Engineer

Location: Dallas, Texas, United States. On-site position.

What you will do

• Develop endurance, range, loiter, and cruise performance calculations across aircraft configurations and operating environments.
• Own aircraft weight, balance, and center-of-gravity models through design changes and configuration updates.
• Create, validate, and maintain aerodynamic and propulsion models supporting guidance, navigation, control, and autonomy systems.
• Collaborate with mechanical, propulsion, and go-to-market teams to assess design changes and payload configurations.
• Plan and lead flight-test campaigns, correlate models with flight data, and characterize aircraft performance.
• Analyze test data, define operational envelopes, investigate anomalies, and drive corrective actions to closure.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or an equivalent technical field.
• 3+ years of experience in the aerospace or defense industry.
• Understanding of fixed-wing flight dynamics, aircraft performance, and aerodynamic and propulsion fundamentals.
• Proficiency in large-data analysis and model validation using Python, MATLAB, or equivalent tools.
• Experience developing or maintaining aircraft weight and center-of-gravity models.
• Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and communicate technical findings to varied audiences.

Nice to have

• Full product lifecycle experience from concept through development, flight testing, and field sustainment.
• Experience with fixed-wing unmanned or autonomous aircraft.
• Experience tuning aerodynamic and engine models for GNC systems.
• Hands-on flight-test experience, including planning, instrumentation, and data reduction.
• Familiarity with MATLAB/Simulink, XFLR5, AVL, or comparable modeling and simulation tools, as well as airworthiness, safety, or defense acquisition standards.
