System/Subsystem Engineer (UAS)

Location: Full-time onsite in Los Angeles (Hawthorne), California, United States. U.S. Person status is required to access U.S.-only data systems.

Salary: $160,000–$240,000 annual base compensation, excluding bonus, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead systems engineering for a clean-sheet airframe design and maintain system architecture and CONOPS.
• Own system and subsystem requirements and specifications from inception through verification and validation.
• Lead system and subsystem integration and test activities, including hardware selloff for customer demonstrations.
• Support local and field testing of software and flight hardware.
• Perform trade studies and lead subsystem and component selection.
• Collaborate across engineering teams and expand work across multiple product families.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or higher degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years of professional systems engineering experience for a prime systems integrator.
• Practical understanding of UAS subsystems, including sensors, navigation, autopilots, control actuation systems, servos, and power subsystems.
• Experience with system and subsystem requirements, trade studies, component selection, data reduction, and post-test aerospace data analysis.
• Experience with modern software development practices, including Git, CI/CD, and automated testing, plus familiarity with Agile methodologies.
• U.S. Person status is required; ability to work onsite and collaborate with small teams is essential.

Nice to have

• DoD security clearance and 10+ years of systems engineering experience with UAS or missile systems.
• Part 107 remote pilot certification.
• Experience integrating EO/IR, radar, and datalink systems.
• Familiarity with DoD standards and handbooks for safety, environments, and testing.
• Experience with full-lifecycle systems engineering, HW/SW integration and testing, and V&V of high-TRL systems.
