TL;DR

What you will do

  • Develop and implement mission assurance requirements throughout the project life cycle.
  • Monitor supplier quality, safety controls, processes, inspections, and QAR activities.
  • Review manufacturing plans, process qualifications, procedures, work orders, build records, and flight hardware documentation.
  • Participate in Manufacturing and Test Readiness Reviews and support fabrication, integration, and testing activities.
  • Document hardware anomalies, corrective actions, re-verifications, and root-cause investigations.
  • Perform final workmanship, instrument buy-off, packaging, and acceptance inspections, including work involving gas generator and mortar systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 4–10+ years of quality engineering experience.
  • Previous NASA or aerospace industry experience.
  • Experience with GMIPS for electronic boards, hybrid microcircuit pre-cap inspection, solder-joint and conformal-coating inspection, and flight hardware workmanship verification.
  • Experience inspecting connectors, harnesses, manufacturing records, shipping packaging, and hardware before integration and final acceptance testing.
  • Specific experience with gas generator and mortar systems.

Nice to have

  • IPC J-STD-001xS, NASA-STD-8739.1, NASA-STD-8739.4, IPC/WHMA-A-620xS, NASA-STD-8739.6, or related workmanship training.
  • ESD control training traceable to ANSI/ESD S20.20.
  • Pre-cap inspection methods derived from MIL-STD-883.
  • Harness experience on NASA projects and the ability to pass NASA workmanship classes.
