Director, Forward Deployed Security

Location: Remote within the United States; 0 days per week in-office and less than 25% in-office.

Base pay: USD $142,800–$274,800 per year across the U.S.; USD $188,000–$304,200 per year in the San Francisco Bay Area and New York City metropolitan area.

What you will do

• Turn ambiguous security needs into programs with defined goals, priorities, dependencies, owners, success measures, and decision paths.
• Manage alignment with CISO governance, including quarterly risk reviews, third-party risk, and post-incident review governance.
• Partner with engineering, architecture, product, and security leaders to resolve risks, planning conflicts, technical tradeoffs, and delivery dependencies.
• Build operating mechanisms for security reviews, roadmap execution, risk prioritization, telemetry, remediation, and service health.
• Use customer feedback, security telemetry, incident learning, exposure data, and other evidence to guide experiments and investment decisions.
• Apply AI and automation to research, planning, analysis, and workflow orchestration while establishing validation, traceability, escalation, and human-oversight standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and 6+ years of experience in engineering, product or technical program management, data analysis, or product development, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
• Experience leading complex technical programs from problem definition through delivery, adoption, and outcome measurement.
• Experience managing at least one sustained security, privacy, or identity program and partnering with engineering and architecture teams on system design and delivery risks.
• Experience applying AI or automation to research, planning, analysis, or operational workflows and communicating the limitations of AI-generated output.
• Must be able to work remotely from the United States.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree and 12+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
• 1+ year of experience reading or writing code.
• Experience leading portfolios across security, cloud, infrastructure, identity, data, AI, or developer-platform programs.
• Experience managing managers, building a technical program-management function, or applying Responsible AI evaluation and oversight practices.
