Accountant (ASEAN)

TL;DR

Accountant (ASEAN): Overseeing financial operations for Asian territories with an accent on audit compliance, financial reporting, and core accounting activities. Focus on driving process improvements, managing PTP/OTC workflows, and ensuring alignment with local accounting standards and corporate policies.

Location: Must be based in Petaling Jaya/Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This role requires a minimum of 4 days per week in the office.

What you will do

• Manage end-to-end Procure to Pay (PTP) and Order to Cash (OTC) processes in coordination with the Shared Service Centre.
• Oversee royalty accounting, including system integration, writer payouts, and balance updates.
• Execute month-end closing activities, including journal vouchers and reconciliation.
• Ensure strict adherence to internal policies, SOX requirements, and local tax regulations.
• Support system implementations, data migrations, and user acceptance testing.
• Assist in external audits and annual tax filings by compiling comprehensive documentation.

Requirements

• Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field.
• Extensive experience in finance and accounting.
• Professional proficiency in English and Chinese (verbal and written).
• Strong technical knowledge of accounting standards and taxation.
• Experience with SAP and Oracle is highly advantageous.
• Must be able to work in the office at least 4 days per week.

Nice to have

• Professional qualification of CPA or finalist status.
• Experience in data analysis and presenting complex financial information.
