Market Lead, Transmission Strategy (PJM)

Location: US, Philadelphia, PA; based in an East region office or remote. Approximately 10% travel is required.

Salary: $138,000–$172,550 per year, plus annual bonus.

What you will do

• Lead transmission strategy for new and acquired renewable energy projects across the United States.
• Analyze transmission grids and identify interconnection opportunities for solar, storage, and wind projects.
• Set up and run automated power flow, injection, FCITC, deliverability, and market studies.
• Use Python or other scripting languages to automate generator interconnection analysis.
• Maintain regional power flow base cases and model changes in resource mix and transmission topology.
• Review and challenge generator interconnection studies, estimate network upgrade costs, and provide technical recommendations for project acquisitions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in renewable or traditional energy development or transmission planning, with an emphasis on generator interconnection studies.
• Proficiency with power flow software including TARA and PSS/E.
• Ability to automate generator interconnection studies across an interconnection-wide area.
• Extensive knowledge of PJM RTEP, the Long Term Transmission Planning Process, modeling methodology, and PJM generator interconnection study methodology.
• Strong understanding of transmission tariffs, interconnection standards, cost allocation, transmission planning, and system performance evaluation.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Experience with MISO, NYISO, or other affected transmission systems.
• Experience with nodal production modeling tools such as PROMOD, UPLAN, GE MAPS, or Aurora.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and schedules.
