Senior Mechanical Engineer

Location: Onsite at the laboratory facility in Brooklyn, New York, USA

What you will do

• Coordinate, plan, and conduct standard and custom mechanical and materials testing in the laboratory.
• Lead field testing and monitoring, including sensor installation, data acquisition system deployment, data collection, and analysis.
• Prepare written test reports with data analysis and interpretation of results.
• Conduct field and site inspections, including non-destructive evaluations of structures.
• Manage projects, pursue new business opportunities, and communicate with colleagues, clients, and other stakeholders.

Requirements

• More than 5 years of experience in laboratory testing; candidates with exceptional relevant backgrounds and less experience may be considered.
• Master’s degree in mechanical, civil, materials, or another relevant engineering field; exceptional candidates with a bachelor’s degree and relevant experience may be considered.
• Familiarity or expertise in mechanical and materials testing, instrumentation, and data analysis.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Specialized knowledge of mechanical and structural failures, sensor systems and setups, and materials characterization techniques is desired.
• Professional Engineer license or ability to obtain professional licensure is desired.
