NDT Level 2 Inspector / Non-Destructive Testing Technician Level II (NDT)

Location: Field-based in the New York metropolitan area, including the five boroughs and Long Island; based at 19 Engineers Ln, Farmingdale, NY 11735, USA. Travel to project sites may be required.

Salary: $48.00–$65.00 per hour, depending on experience and certifications.

What you will do

• Perform Level II non-destructive testing using Ultrasonic Testing, Magnetic Particle Testing, and Visual Testing methods.
• Conduct field testing, obtain representative samples, and verify materials, components, and assemblies against project specifications, codes, and industry standards.
• Operate, calibrate, maintain, and take responsibility for assigned NDT inspection equipment.
• Interpret test results, identify defects and non-conformances, and prepare detailed inspection reports and documentation.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, quality control personnel, and Level III technicians to resolve inspection issues and obtain company certification.
• Guide Level I technicians, participate in pre-inspection planning, and follow site and workplace safety procedures.

Requirements

• Current NDT Level II certification in Ultrasonic Testing and Magnetic Particle Testing is mandatory.
• At least five years of hands-on experience in NDT inspection, preferably in industrial, construction, or manufacturing environments.
• High school diploma or equivalent; a bachelor's degree in engineering, materials science, or a related technical field is preferred.
• Knowledge of SNT-TC-1A, ASNT CP-189, ASTM, ASME Section V, AWS D1.1, API, and other applicable standards.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and inspection procedures and use inspection documentation software.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, work at heights and in confined spaces, and operate safely in indoor, outdoor, and adverse weather conditions.

Nice to have

• Level II certification in Liquid Penetrant Testing and Visual Testing.
• ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician certifications.
• ICC Special Inspector certifications in masonry, steel construction, structural bolting, or structural welding.
• OSHA 10-Hour or 30-Hour Construction Safety Certification.
