Web Designer (UI/UX)

Location: Chantilly, Virginia, United States

Salary: $135,200–$175,000 per year; the range applies to the Virginia area only. Additional compensation may include bonuses, sign-on bonuses, relocation benefits, and incentive payments.

What you will do

• Review and evaluate web applications, portals, dashboards, and user interfaces supporting space and counterspace missions.
• Assess user experience, information architecture, navigation, and visual design to identify improvement opportunities.
• Recommend enhancements that improve usability, accessibility, consistency, and operational effectiveness.
• Review wireframes, mockups, prototypes, and design specifications against mission requirements and established standards.
• Support UI/UX standards, style guides, governance processes, and modernization initiatives.
• Document findings and collaborate with government stakeholders, developers, engineers, and mission partners on design changes and validation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in web design, user experience design, human-computer interaction, graphic design, computer science, information systems, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in web design, UI/UX design, user research, digital product design, or a related discipline.
• Experience with web applications, websites, dashboards, or enterprise user interfaces.
• Proficiency with Figma, Adobe Creative Cloud, Sketch, Axure, or equivalent design and prototyping tools.
• Active Top Secret clearance with eligibility for TS/SCI and a current polygraph is required.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting Department of Defense, Intelligence Community, or other federal government programs.
• Knowledge of Section 508 compliance and U.S. Web Design System principles.
• Experience with data visualization platforms, intelligence analysis tools, or operational dashboards.
