Direct Support Professional (DSP)

Location: Rohnert Park, California, USA; onsite day program

Salary: $23.50–$26.20 per hour; starting rate fixed at $23.50 per hour.

What you will do

• Lead cooking, art, music, recreation, and life-skills activities.
• Teach and reinforce skills that promote independence, including communication and money-management skills.
• Support community outings, volunteer activities, and participation at each individual's ability level.
• Provide personal care, including restroom, hygiene, eating, mobility, lifting, and transfers.
• Provide behavioral support, follow individualized support and behavior plans, and use trained de-escalation techniques.
• Complete electronic documentation, drive company vehicles, and maintain safe, clean program areas with the team.

Requirements

• At least 6 months of relevant hands-on support experience preferred.
• Must be at least 21 years old and have a high school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver's license and ability to drive a company van.
• Comfort providing personal care and behavioral support, including responding appropriately during behavioral and emergency situations.
• Basic computer skills, ability to learn electronic documentation systems, and strong reading, writing, and communication skills.
• Ability to lift and transfer 50 pounds.
