CDQI Nurse Specialist PRN

Location: United States; candidates must be able to accommodate a minimum of 15 hours per week.

What you will do

• Review selected inpatient records for incomplete, inadequate, missing, unclear, or conflicting documentation.
• Query physicians and collaborate with caregivers to clarify clinical documentation and support accurate reimbursement and clinical severity for DRG-based payer patients.
• Educate physicians and caregivers on documentation specificity throughout the patient stay.
• Apply AHA guidelines and coding clinics to support accurate coding and compliance.
• Maintain production logs, track reviewed cases and queries, and perform follow-up reviews.
• Protect the confidentiality of patient records and meet production and quality metrics.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of clinical documentation improvement experience.
• At least 3 years of clinical experience in an academic medical center.
• Registered Nurse license and a Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
• CCDS or CDIP certification.
• Successful completion of a CDI skills competency assessment.
• Must be able to work at least 15 hours per week.
