Director, Portfolio Governance (Biotechnology)

Location: Onsite in Tarrytown, New York, United States; travel up to 10%

Salary: $183,100–$305,200 annually

What you will do

• Own and continuously evolve the portfolio governance framework.
• Establish decision-quality standards covering options, trade-offs, risks, and recommendations.
• Facilitate governance forums and drive structured discussions with actionable outcomes.
• Define governance performance metrics and build a closed-loop improvement model.
• Synthesize governance outputs into portfolio-level insights, including cross-program risks and systemic bottlenecks.
• Partner with senior leaders and governance chairs, streamline escalation pathways, and coach team members.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and 12+ years of experience in biotechnology, pharmaceutical development, or consulting.
• Experience designing governance frameworks, operating models, or decision-making processes.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
• Exceptional executive communication and facilitation skills.
• Experience leading and developing high-performance teams.

Nice to have

• Experience with Lean or Six Sigma process improvement methodologies.
• Experience using dashboards, workflow tools, or analytics platforms to enable scalable processes.
