Director, Development Asset Lead (Biotech)

Base compensation: $217,000–$299,000 annually

What you will do

• Lead and refine integrated development plans for preclinical and clinical-stage portfolio assets.
• Define asset goals, timelines, risks, and deliverables with project management and functional teams.
• Drive accountability and alignment of functional plans with the overall asset strategy.
• Represent assets in portfolio governance forums and discussions with senior stakeholders.
• Integrate scientific, medical, and business considerations into asset execution and portfolio decisions.
• Build a collaborative, inclusive team culture and share development learnings across the department.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required; an advanced degree such as MS, MD, PhD, PharmD, or MBA is strongly preferred.
• 10–12 years of drug development experience in pharma or biotechnology.
• Proven strategic leadership of teams delivering complex cross-functional goals.
• Experience creating and executing clinical development plans aligned with broader strategies.
• Strong understanding of therapeutic areas and optimal drug development strategies.
• Ability to assess the competitive and business implications of scientific and medical data.

Nice to have

• Deep understanding of Minimum and Target Product Profile concepts.
• Working knowledge of regulatory requirements and drug development and registration processes.
• Exceptional communication skills, including the ability to empathize with and influence diverse audiences.
