Software Engineering IC2 (AI)

Location: Redmond, Washington, United States; 3 days per week in-office

Salary: USD 85,400–168,100 per year across the U.S.; USD 111,100–183,700 per year in the San Francisco Bay Area and New York City metropolitan area.

Build intelligent platforms and services supporting the design, manufacturing, supply chain, and delivery of Surface and Xbox devices.

What you will do

• Build full-stack features for services using C#/.NET and Python.
• Deploy and manage secure, resilient services on Azure Cloud Infrastructure.
• Use AI-assisted development tools, including GitHub Copilot and AI code review.
• Translate requirements into shipped features with product management, architecture, and data science partners.
• Write clean, testable code with unit and integration test coverage.
• Contribute to code reviews, agile ceremonies, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and Azure development infrastructure.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Proven coding experience in languages including C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
• Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and government security screening requirements, including the Microsoft Cloud Background Check.
• Understanding of cloud computing concepts.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Microsoft Azure services and CI/CD concepts.
• Comfort using AI tools in the development workflow.
• Curiosity and willingness to learn across the full stack.
• Open-source contributions or personal projects demonstrating problem-solving and development experience.
