Senior Software Engineer (AI)

Location: New York, NY, USA; four days a week in the office with one hybrid/remote day

Salary: $137,000–$180,000 per year

What you will do

• Design and build end-to-end features across React frontends and Python backends using Django or FastAPI.
• Own components and small services from specification through deployment and operation.
• Contribute to AI-powered features, including prompt engineering, agent workflows, RAG pipelines, and LLM integrations.
• Participate in architecture and design discussions and help shape technical direction.
• Write tested, maintainable code, participate in code reviews, and improve documentation and developer practices.
• Collaborate with engineering, DevOps, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into shipped software.

Requirements

• 5–8 years of professional full-stack software engineering experience.
• Strong proficiency with React or a comparable modern frontend framework and Python with Django, FastAPI, or similar.
• Understanding of REST APIs, relational databases, and modern web application architecture.
• Experience with Docker, cloud infrastructure such as AWS or Azure, and CI/CD workflows such as GitHub Actions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and comfort working across time zones with non-technical stakeholders.
• Curiosity about AI/ML and interest in building AI-powered products.

Nice to have

• Production experience integrating LLM APIs such as OpenAI or Anthropic.
• Experience with LangGraph, LangChain, vector databases, or RAG architectures.
• Experience with Databricks, Snowflake, Airbyte, workflow automation platforms, enterprise SaaS, or compliance-sensitive industries.
• Background in AEC, construction technology, or industrial software.
