Senior Engineering Manager (Enterprise AI Product)

Location: United States; fully remote, with applicants required to reside in an eligible country and have permanent work authorization. Visa sponsorship is not provided.

US base salary: $215,000–$240,000 USD annually, plus an annual bonus program.

What you will do

• Lead engineering execution by setting priorities, ownership, timelines, dependencies, quality expectations, and delivery plans.
• Manage and develop senior engineers and contractors through coaching, feedback, hiring, onboarding, and career development.
• Remain technically engaged through code contributions, technical reviews, architectural tradeoff evaluation, and quality oversight.
• Partner with product, design, enterprise-facing teams, and technical leadership to turn product strategy into coordinated engineering roadmaps.
• Improve planning, code review, release readiness, testing, CI/CD, documentation, technical debt, and maintainability practices.
• Guide the product from incubation toward dependable enterprise-scale adoption and release confidence.

Requirements

• 15+ years of professional software development experience, including significant senior engineering leadership or comparable technical experience.
• 5+ years managing engineering teams, including senior engineers or senior individual contributors.
• Technical fluency across LLM applications, RAG workflows, agents, enterprise search, automation, on-device AI, or AI evaluation.
• Experience delivering complex user-facing applications across desktop, web, and mobile platforms using Tauri, Electron, React Native, or comparable frameworks.
• Experience with enterprise, regulated, security- and privacy-sensitive products, including customer-controlled deployment models such as local-first, offline-capable, self-hosted, hybrid, on-premise, or air-gapped architectures.
• Strong communication, people leadership, mentoring, hiring, prioritization, stakeholder management, and cross-functional collaboration skills, including experience with distributed teams.

Nice to have

• Experience in open-source or community-driven engineering environments.
• Familiarity with SOC 2, HIPAA, ISO 27001, or similar compliance and security frameworks.
• Experience taking a product from zero to one within a startup or new product initiative.
