TL;DR
Quality Inspector III - Avionics (Aerospace): Inspecting and accepting launch vehicle and spacecraft hardware and software products with an accent on avionics integration, technical compliance, and non-conformance control. Focus on developing inspection programs, investigating quality issues, maintaining calibrated metrology systems, and improving inspection efficiency in a cleanroom manufacturing environment.

Location: Onsite at the Production and Test facility in Briggs, Texas, north of Cedar Park. Must support 2nd shift, Monday–Friday, 3:00 p.m.–11:30 p.m.

What you will do

  • Inspect and accept launch vehicle and spacecraft components, sub-assemblies, and avionics integration hardware.
  • Develop and execute inspection programs to verify compliance with designs, specifications, testing requirements, and mission standards.
  • Document, quarantine, and process non-conforming products in accordance with established procedures.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to investigate quality issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain tool control, calibration processes, and metrology system validation within the assigned work center.
  • Improve product quality and inspection efficiency while supporting Lean and 5S initiatives.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
  • 8+ years of hands-on experience in an aerospace, military, or manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read technical drawings, specifications, IPC standards, GD&T documentation, and quality control requirements.
  • Experience with aerospace quality, military, or government standards.
  • Ability to work in a cleanroom environment for extended periods.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, organization, teamwork, and process flexibility.

Nice to have

  • Associate degree or higher in quality, engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • IPC certifications and familiarity with NASA-STD-8739.4.
  • Experience maintaining cleanrooms under FS209E, ISO 14644-1, or equivalent standards.
  • Experience with aerospace quality standards such as AS9100 or ISO 9001.
  • Experience with structures and composites, electrical and avionics, fluids and propulsion, blueprints, GD&T, and Model-Based Definitions.
  • A&P license.
