Manager, Solutions Engineering (AI)

Location: San Francisco or New York City, United States. San Francisco requires hybrid work from the office 3 days per week; New York City is fully remote.

On-target earnings: $260,000–$300,000 per year, plus equity and commission. Salary varies by location.

What you will do

• Establish the Solutions Engineering function, including its scope, processes, and scalable playbooks.
• Hire, mentor, and lead the founding team of Solutions Engineers, with accountability for coaching, performance, and career growth.
• Support strategic new business and expansion opportunities from discovery through close.
• Deliver proof of concepts that connect product capabilities to measurable customer outcomes, including time savings, cost avoidance, and operational gains.
• Partner with Sales, Product, and Customer Success while bringing customer feedback into the product roadmap.
• Build reusable demo assets, proof-of-concept frameworks, and technical narratives, and use team performance data to evolve the function.

Requirements

• 3 or more years of people management experience leading Solutions Engineers, Solutions Architects, Technical Account Managers, or comparable technical customer-facing teams.
• Experience as a Solutions Engineer or in a comparable pre-sales or post-sales technical role at a high-growth SaaS company.
• Ability to explain large language models and AI product concepts to both technical and executive audiences.
• Experience building a function, scalable programs, processes, and playbooks from scratch.
• Ability to remain hands-on in strategic customer engagements and translate technical complexity into business value.
• Experience partnering with Sales, Product, and Customer Success on shared outcomes.
