Manager of Credentialing and Payer Operations

Location: Hybrid in New York City with at least three days per week in the NYC office, or fully remote within the United States

Salary: $90,000–$100,000 per year, plus equity and benefits

What you will do

• Build and improve scalable provider credentialing, licensing, and payer enrollment operations.
• Administer the Credentialing Committee and coordinate provider application reviews with clinical leadership.
• Manage credentialing and CVO vendor relationships, monitoring service-level performance.
• Design quality controls, documentation standards, and error-catching checkpoints for payer applications.
• Lead and coach US-based and international specialists while setting performance standards and training new team members.
• Partner with RCM, payer strategy, business development, product, and engineering teams to resolve root causes and build automation and AI-based workflows.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in high-growth operations, preferably with provider credentialing, licensing, and payer enrollment exposure.
• Experience building and improving operational systems in fast-moving, resource-constrained environments.
• Strong analytical, process improvement, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent cross-functional communication and ability to influence without direct authority.
• Interest in automation, tooling, and AI as operational force multipliers.

Nice to have

• Experience in telehealth, digital health, or multi-state provider network operations.
• Hands-on experience with payer and third-party portals such as Availity.
• Familiarity with commercial payer requirements; Medicare and Medicaid experience is a plus.
• Exposure to credentialing standards such as NCQA and CMS.
