Payer Operations Coordinator

Location: Remote; supporting payer operations for a multi-state telehealth practice across the United States

Salary: $60,000–$68,000 annually

What you will do

• Execute payer contracting, credentialing, and enrollment activities from application preparation through approval.
• Maintain accurate enrollment, credentialing, contracting, and provider-readiness trackers.
• Follow up with payers by phone, email, and payer portals to resolve deficiencies and complete applications.
• Track application aging, payer turnaround times, approval rates, deficiencies, and provider readiness.
• Identify repetitive and error-prone work and build AI-powered workflows, automations, templates, dashboards, and documentation.
• Partner with Clinical Operations, Product, Compliance, and other stakeholders to build scalable processes.

Requirements

• 2–4 years of experience in a startup, consulting, strategy, operations, or similarly high-growth environment.
• Demonstrated experience building or significantly improving workflows with AI or automation tools, with concrete examples of process improvements.
• Strong operational, problem-solving, communication, and follow-up skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple workstreams, trackers, deadlines, and priorities.
• Strong Excel and/or Google Sheets skills.
• Self-directed, adaptable, and comfortable owning work in an evolving startup environment.

Nice to have

• Healthcare payer operations, revenue cycle management, payer enrollment, or provider credentialing experience.
• Experience with CAQH ProView, payer credentialing portals, NPI, DEA, behavioral health, telehealth, or multi-state healthcare operations.
• Experience creating dashboards and operational tracking systems.
• Experience working cross-functionally with Product, Operations, Compliance, technical, offshore, or outsourced teams.
