Director, Global Design & Construction (AI)

Location: Hybrid in San Francisco, CA or Austin, TX; approximately 3 days per week in the office, with global travel required.

Salary: $223,000–$307,000 annual salary for Bay Area-based hires; compensation may vary by work location. Equity participation is available.

What you will do

• Lead the end-to-end design and construction of global hirify.global offices, directing architects, general contractors, artists, and furniture partners.
• Design and implement AI-assisted workflows for vendor onboarding, contracting, cost estimation, project tracking, risk identification, and automated quality controls.
• Use workplace utilization data, employee feedback, post-occupancy metrics, and generative design to evolve global office footprints and design standards.
• Partner with Real Estate and FP&A on site selection, due diligence, cash-flow modeling, capital allocation, and financial risk mitigation.
• Own the global CapEx budget, including multi-year forecasting, cost-variance reporting, and executive-level capital reporting.
• Align executive stakeholders, Physical Security, IT, Legal, Workplace Operations, and external delivery partners while overseeing commissioning, handover, compliance, and sustainability standards.

Requirements

• 10–12+ years of experience leading interior design and complex construction project management in high-growth technology companies or global enterprises.
• Experience directing a global corporate office portfolio exceeding 250,000 total square feet.
• Knowledge of MEP systems, architectural principles, AV/IT, and automated building systems.
• Outstanding leadership, communication, and collaboration skills across executives, external partners, and multiple time zones.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Architecture, Project Management, Interior Design, Engineering, or a related field.
• Willingness to work in-office approximately 3 days per week in San Francisco or Austin and travel globally.

Nice to have

• LEED, WELL, or PMP certification.
• Experience with AI-enhanced workflows, generative design platforms, or AI-assisted operational models.
