Software Engineer (AI)

Location: Hybrid in San Francisco, United States, or Toronto, Canada

Compensation: $130,000 in San Francisco with equity; CA$113,000 in Toronto with equity.

What you will do

• Own projects across the full lifecycle, from conception and development through deployment and iteration.
• Build software integrations and enhance the integration engine for hirify.global customers.
• Collaborate with backend engineers, product owners, designers, and stakeholders to define and implement technical solutions.
• Design interfaces, integration architecture, and technical interface requirements.
• Translate specifications into technical designs and solve problems using multiple programming languages and frameworks.
• Optimize application performance and responsiveness.

Requirements

• Internship experience or at least one year of relevant hands-on experience building applications and services.
• Experience integrating with third-party vendors and designing dependable integration frameworks.
• Skills in designing and developing RESTful APIs according to industry best practices.
• Understanding of data structures, algorithms, design patterns, and software development fundamentals.
• Familiarity with SOAP, REST, GraphQL, and server-side languages such as SQL.
• Ability to communicate technical ideas and issues clearly and turn requirements into actionable solutions.

Nice to have

• Experience with React and TypeScript.
• Experience in AI, legal technology, or social impact projects.
