Assoc Applications Dev Engineer (AI)

Location: Santa Clara, California, United States. Work persona: Flexible.

Salary: $108,800–$140,000 base pay, plus equity when applicable, variable compensation, and benefits.

Build AI-native enterprise applications and workflows for specialized industries, including high-tech, telecommunications, healthcare, financial services, and manufacturing.

What you will do

• Complete guided bug fixes, feature enhancements, and tests across frontend and backend application layers.
• Contribute to AI-native features such as agentic workflows and conversational experiences.
• Write unit, integration, and end-to-end tests and participate in code reviews.
• Use AI coding assistants under supervision and evaluate generated code for correctness, security, and maintainability.
• Learn CI/CD pipelines, participate in deployments, and build awareness of production operations.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, tech leads, and senior engineers to turn requirements into tested software.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 0–2 years of professional software engineering experience, or relevant academic, internship, or project experience.
• Foundational knowledge of data structures, algorithms, object-oriented programming, and at least one modern programming language and framework.
• Exposure to HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, Angular, or Vue, plus REST APIs, databases, Git, cloud concepts, and unit testing.
• Interest in AI-native application development, including agents, prompt engineering, and testing non-deterministic systems.
• Clear communication skills and the ability to work within established engineering conventions.

Nice to have

• Exposure to LLM APIs, prompt engineering, or agent frameworks.
• Familiarity with CI/CD, Docker, or AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Interest in regulated industry domains or experience with enterprise SaaS applications.
• ServiceNow platform experience.
